As the face ages, skin can start to sag downwards and forwards. This can create a sad or tired or older appearance. Nose to mouth hollows can start to deepen as the skin hangs over them and the corners of the mouth can turn downwards as the cheeks begin to drop. Jowls can become apparent as the fat along the jawline starts to droop down and definition along the jaw is lost.
A Silhouette Soft Thread Lift is a minimally invasive non surgical procedure to lift the skin back up and out again. Safe sterile threads with cones are placed under the skin to support, lift and suspend the skin and fat underneath back towards where it used to be. These threads dissolve after twelve months and whilst present, can stimulate collagen formation to extend the length of effect.

Silhouette Soft suspension sutures are made from PLLA and PLGA (Poly L Lactic acid & Poly Lactic-co-Glycolic acid), that has been utilised safely in medicine for decades. Silhouette Soft is CE marked for the European market and the manufacturing site complies with the requirements of international standards ISO 13485.
Through the repositioning of the fat deposits and elevation of the skin, Silhouette Soft restores the face and neck shape and redefines specifically cheek and jawline contours.
The suspension suture and cones technology repositions the skin and fat, particularly around the cheeks and jaw line, to give definition and providing immediate effects.
Long-term effects come from the body’s foreign body reaction, which stimulates collagen synthesis from the activation of the fibroblasts present in the skin.
This stimulation occurs in the tissue area surrounding the suture and cones. Collagen production is naturally reduced with ageing and therefore this ‘re-stimulation’ is pivotal to providing long-term improvement of the face and neck contours.
Silhouette Soft can cause a minimal inflammatory reaction, due to the insertion of a foreign body into the skin. This is a well-known reaction and common to all minimally invasive aesthetic treatments. In some cases, patients can experience minor pain, as well swelling and bruising can also occur.
The recovery period for Silhouette Soft can vary depending on a variety of factors, and can be anywhere between a few days and up to two weeks.

This non surgical procedure takes only a short time to perform. No stitches or cuts are required. Results are subtler that a surgical facelift but lifting effect is still seen.
These sutures lift the skin immediately and also stimulate collagen production. Volume is restored and results are long lasting.
The skin is marked up and local anaesthetic is applied to the entry and exit points of the sutures. The sutures are placed with thin needles under the skin. Normal life can continue soon after treatment is completed. High impact sports, high temperatures, extreme sunlight, dental surgery and facial treatments should be avoided for some weeks afterwards. These threads can be placed in combination with other modalities such as facial fillers for optimal results.
Silhouette Soft involves a minimally invasive procedure, also known as a non-surgical facelift.
